Motorsports Industry Heads To DC For Sema’S 2018 Washington Rally

Washington, DC, May 21, 2018 - More than 110 representatives from the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) descended on the nation’s capital to participate in SEMA’s 2018 Washington Rally on Wednesday, May 16. Industry leaders stormed the halls of Congress to remind lawmakers of the cultural and economic importance of the automotive specialty equipment industry and motorsports.
During the event, SEMA members urged Congress to pass H.R. 350/S.203, the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports (RPM) Act. The bipartisan bill would protect Americans’ right to modify street vehicles into dedicated racecars and industry’s right to sell the parts that enable racers to compete. The RPM Act now has 145 cosponsors in the House and 38 cosponsors in the Senate, and the number continues to grow. Members also raised awareness for other issues facing the specialty equipment industry, including harmful tariffs, preventing higher ethanol content in gasoline and saving the Bonneville Salt Flats.
"I thank the SEMA members who took valuable time away from their businesses to fight for the issues that matter most to our industry, including the RPM Act," said SEMA Chairman of the Board Wade Kawasaki. Orca Adds Reps To Its Award-Winning Group


Four new firms and expanded territories enhance retailer service and support
Camarillo, CA, May 15, 2018 - Orca Design and Manufacturing announced it has brought on several new sales representative firms through the first quarter. The additions affect 19 states throughout the United States and significantly increase the number of sales professionals available to service Orca retailers in those areas.
Out west, Reil and Associates, run by partners Kevin and Scott Reil, covers retailers in Montana, Eastern Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado. Paragon Sales and Marketing has expanded its territory from Southern California to encompass Arizona and New Mexico.
