Six Champions Recognized Including SEMA Hall of Fame Member
Sacramento, CA, May 11, 2018 - The Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) has launched an elite donor partner program called the AACF Champion program. “AACF Champions are generous, big-hearted aftermarket brands and individuals that have committed to supporting aftermarket families with a donation of $25,000 or more,” said Joel Ayres, executive director. “And, we simply can’t thank them enough.”

QA1 Announces Dave Kass As Marketing Manager

QA1 has named Dave Kass as its new Marketing Manager. A QA1 team member since 2009, Dave started his career with QA1 on the technical support team. He has worked in a variety of sales positions, most recently as the Customer Service Manager, leading the customer service and technical support team. In that capacity, he also worked closely with the marketing department, attending numerous trade shows and media events. Most recently, he championed the conception of QA1's #goDRIVEit campaign, which encourages enthusiasts to get out and enjoy their vehicles.
In his new role, Dave will be responsible for the planning and execution of day-to-day marketing activities, driving corporate and product marketing strategies, and monitoring market trends to keep QA1 at the forefront of the industry. "We have a strong marketing team, and with the right focus, I think we can capitalize on the strength of the QA1 brand as we continue to innovate and grow," says Dave. Hedges & Company Releases Annual Online Auto Parts Forecast: Online Sales To Break $10B In 2018

Hudson, Ohio — Hedges & Company, a digital marketing agency serving the automotive aftermarket, has published its annual automotive parts & accessories forecast for online retailing. The new forecast shows online auto parts sales in 2018 will be over $10 billion. The automotive aftermarket will continue its dramatic shift to digital as online retail sales of auto parts & accessories in 2018 will exceed $10 billion for the first time, posting a 16.3% increase over 2017, with more than $5 billion of that occurring on mobile phones. Hedges & Company forecasts online sales of auto parts to reach nearly $16 billion in 2021.
Hedges & Company also forecasts nearly $138 billion in retail sales in 2018 through all sales channels—including traditional retail channels—will be influenced by the internet, due to online activity by consumers and service professionals. This influence comes from consumers doing online research before buying a part, reading information and checking fitment on a manufacturer’s website, being exposed to online advertising, reading product or reseller reviews, going to automotive forums, or using search engines. The four most popular methods of online research used by consumers before buying are using search engines like Google or Bing (74% of all consumers), visiting online auto parts retailer websites (73%), visiting manufacturer websites (57%) and visiting automotive forums (47%).
Online activity will influence nearly $152 billion in parts and accessory sales through all retail channels - chain retail stores, automobile dealers, big box retailers, local independent brick & mortar retailers, jobbers, as well as online sales - by 2021. Online sales includes online retailers, as well as the growing trend of manufacturers selling direct to consumers (DTC).
